Maria Bogachek is a Berlin-based photographer, filmmaker and art historian working in the fields of documentary, fine art, conceptual photography, and film. She received a dual B.A. in Liberal Arts (art history major), and studied photography at Bard College Berlin, The Rodchenko Art School and The Academy Fotografika. Recently, she completed a Master’s degree in Film in Berlin, Germany.
Her works mostly deal with the issues of consumer society, corporeality, escapism, historical memory, migration, and interaction with nature. She combines a minimalist approach, metaphor, and grotesque, and at present is engaged with exploring the natural environment taking a closer look at separate elements in nature.
